Roydon All Saint's Church, Roydon, "Ryge" + ""Dun", = Rye Hill, Reiduna (nr Lynn) Ragheduna (nr Diss) Map at bottom of page. Zig-Zag/Criss Cross design Door. Nr King's Lynn. Pevsner states, the building of Roydon 1857 designed by Street. (G. E. Street (1824–81) was an English architect and architectural writer, whose designs were mainly in High Victorian Gothic style. Born the son of a solicitor, he first worked in a law office, but was then articled to the architect Owen Browne Carter in Winchester. . Two years later, in 1844, he moved to London and worked in the office of George Gilbert Scott. Street could not possibly be happy with the Norman style. What he means I am not too sure, but he goes on to say, the church  had two original doorways, they both have an order of colonnettes and zig-zag decoration in the arch. The capital and hood-moulds, however differ. The church has a 14th century tower. The font is said to be neo-Norman. the Pulpit also. West tower, south porch, nave and chancel. This church was rebuilt in that disastrous period, the middle of last century, except for the 15th century tower with quatrefoil sound holes. North and south Norman doorways retained. The organ is built or constructed by Norman & Beard Ltd of London.
