Anmer Church St Mary the Virgin

Anmer Church St Mary the Virgin, Anmer, or Anemere: meaning Duck pool, a'ned (duck) + mere (pool). On having done many churches of Norfolk, one day I decided to make a list and venture off to what I call the "Queen's country." I had done a few from the area before and had either been allowed to wander around or had the benefit of others helping me look around these splendid buildings. On the day I visited Anmer Church St Mary the Virgin, a new car park was being built. A sigh saying Private Road Keep Out was on the side of the road, because I was relatively new to this, I ventured down and spoke to the builders. They said the church was open, go take pictures. I did, and at that moment how glad I was. That was up until the moment I had finished. A man came bursting in, asked me what I was doing and why I had not adhered to the signs. Feeling like a scolded schoolboy that had stolen the Headmasters lunch, I apologised and instead of leaving a donation left. I wrote to the Reverend in complaint. People like this man stop visitors going to churches and I will not be returning, as it was its and uphill struggle for someone with a disability like mine.  I except the apology of the reverend and wish them well. I did photograph that church and returned home. Thus wondering if I really needed all the hassle. Excessively restored, beautiful rood screens, a porch from the 15th century and plain 13th century doorway. The church contains font, pulpit, and the arms of George II, .Large car park just been built, but too far to church for the disabled, no toilet at present 2018.
