Attlebridge, Saint Andrew's Church.

Attlebridge, Saint Andrew's Church, one of the other halves favourite churches, Well it might have something to do with the sunshine day that we had, and the fact it has a bench settled outside in that sun. It also might be where it is situated, high on a hill, inside this church worshiped in for 2000 years, though mostly now 13th century, built on original foundations. Mainly built of flint, iron-bound conglomerate, freestone and brick, there are also traces of plasterwork that once covered the church on the outside of the porch walls. Most of what is seen today is of the 13th century. On the west end of the tower is a niche, presumably before holding a small statue of Saint Andrews. There is also a Priests table, this shown in image 9 This table sitting on 10 turned legs dates at around the 17th century. The ornate lectern as mentioned by Pevsner has been replaced by a plain reading desk cum pulpit. Because of generous donations, the church closed in 2007 is now open again, this after being restored, Attlebridge, Saint Andrew's Church,.west tower, south porch. nave, north aisle, and chancel. Modern roofs and fittings, nearly all the windows are new. There is little of interest except a low-side window on south wall. Square west tower, i bell, nave north aisle, chancel, and south porch. The chancel is Early English, tower Decorated, the rest mainly Perpendicular. There are some brasses, a tablet to Craven family, a piscina, holy water stoup and a squint.
