Billingford Saint Leonard Church NR20 4AJ

Billingford Saint Leonard Church, west tower, south porch, nave and chancel. The round tower has fallen and its roof is now at nave roof level. Inside is a fine example of a single-framed rafter roof with arch-braced principals and long wall posts. The door to old parvise has nice tracery. Traditional font with miniature 17th century cover. Stuart pulpit back boards and canopy and hour glass stand, and interesting rood loft stairs approached from a dropped window sill in north east window and with steep oak nosed steps. Plain square headed screen, complete to top of tracery. 13th century piscina and curious sedilia, with only half the window sill dropped giving accommodation for the priest only. Fragments of glass, Stuart table and the Arms of Anne, which though now initials  for George II, show the unchanged charging of the shield and Anne's motto of "Semper Eadem"
