Brooke Saint Peters Church,
West tower, south porch, nave, north aisle and chancel. The lower part of the round tower is Norman early, 13th century south doorway with a good traceried door. Arch-braced roof springing from angels with arch-bracing between. Plain poor man's box, a smart Stuart table, an aumbry carved with the deposition, and a plain double piscina circa 1300. There is a small fragment of the 16th century screen showing the expulsion from Eden. The seven Sacrament font shows east Mass, north east Confirmation, south Penance, south west, extreme Unction, west Crucifixion, north west Baptism, north Ordination, north east Matrimony. Fine corona with angels holding inscribed labels and canopied figures to shaft. The whole has traces of colour.
Brooke Saint Peters Church, The round church tower has been here 800 years, but its windows are English of the 13th century and its parapet is 15th century. A fine old door still swings in its medieval doorway and keeps its ancient ring. By the lofty arch leading into the 600 year old chancel is a cupboard door carved with a copy of Rubens Descent from the Cross; and on another wall is a tiny fragment of carving which is precious for being all that is left of the ancient screen. It shows Adam and Eve being turned out of Eden. The medieval font has figures round the stem and the bowl is carved with Seven Sacraments. All the figures are worn, but on a bracket is a miniature font which shows us what the original was like 500 years ago.
