Coston, Saint Michael and All Saints Church, West tower, south porch, nave and chancel. The whole church is 13th century, including the tower, and has a string course carried all round. There is a deep hole in wall of doorway to take a draw bolt. Low-side window blocked up, and three curious moulded capitals on east wall inside 2' 11" above floor, for which I have no explanation. Modern roofs and benches and Jacobean pulpit. Coston, Saint Michael and All Saints Church, Down a narrow road to a steep little driveway built for this church, this quaint little house of God is lovely. Cared for by CCT, (The Churches Conservation Trust), this church, just having its roof done. still shows signs of wear, it has many little features, this includes one thing I haven't seen before in any Norfolk Church, of course I haven't been around them all yet, but I haven't seen another with "Decorated Window Moulding" The Font is 15th century, so too its roof. It has a stairway leading to the rood. Though that rood has gone. Saint Michaels has an octagonal font and lighting extended on a long chain for easy of lighting. (Possibly gas). Well worth a visit. Coston Church near Hardingham has a square west tower, 1 bell, nave, chancel and south porch. The style is mainly transitional late Early English and Decorated. The porch is much later. There is a large aumbry in the chancel and remains of the steps to rood loft. There is a holy water stoup near the north door, which must originally have been the main entrance.
