Felbrigg, Saint Margaret Church, at one time the village of Felbrigg was a hive of industry, in certain weathers from the air the village that has now departed is still there, crop markings are still to be seen. The church still remains, either because of the Black Death or the villages moving away. This church, largely a 15th century church, it contains much of Sir Simon Felbrigg within its fabrication, brasses included.
The church built of Norfolk flints, with dressings of quoins and stone. the tower, with only one bell, this inscribed with "T. Newman, made mee, 1707", the tower contains a "wafer Oven" an small recess and extremely rare feature in English churches, this built for Communion Wafers. The octagonal font, is around the 14th century, with a cover gifted in 1953 by Mr Cecil Upcher, styled as a 17th century one. The church still contains the upper part of a rood stair, this on the north-west corner of the nave. Square west tower, 1 bell, nave, chancel, and both north and south porches, letting occupants of both Felbrigg Hall, north and villages south, to enter in two different directions. This church is now situated in the Park estate of Felbrigg Hall. The style is mainly transitional Decorated and Perpendicular. There are many monuments and brasses to the Felbrigg and Windham families. On a large marble slab in the nave is a fine sepulchral brass, with effigy in complete armour, this to Sir Simon de Felbrygge, Knight of the Garter and Standard Bearer to Richard II, died 1443 and to his wife. There is also a brass to Roger de Felbrig who was buried in Prussia, died 1380. Another, with effigy in armour, to Thomas, third son of Sir Edmund Windham, died 1599. There is a very beautiful monument to the Rt. Honourable William Windham, a distinguished statesman, who died in 1810 by sculptor Joseph Nollekens of 1813. Another to Thomas Windham 1669 by (Martin Morley sculptor).
