Feltwell, Saint Nicholas Church, Saint Nicholas, not as known to strangers as much as its larger sister church of Saint Mary's, hides to the side of the village, and off the beaten track. It now has no tower, this falling into disrepair ironically at a time the workmen were doing up the church. (The men are said to have had lunch in a nearby public house, all builders thought that one and other had paid. The Landlord realised that they hadn't settled their bill and recalled them to the pub. Whilst away, the tower they were working on prior fell down. Being an act of God, this was never replaced. Inside is a Norman column, this seen near the alter area of the church with its elaborate zig-zag decoration. There are three clappers hing on the wall, originally five, the other two sold. Feltwell, Saint Nicholas Church. South porch, and nave. Of the circular Norman tower only the base remains. Inside the church is a huge Norman tower arch with one engaged column and deep abacus. Modern roofs and fittings, and fine 13th century arcade with well-moulded caps and bases and clustered columns in south aisle. 15th century arcade in north aisle, and large two-light clerestory windows, which outside have inscribed stones between them, some with initials and one with DEYE on it. Theres a brick porch and simple cinquefoiled piscina in south aisle.
