Great Hautbois Holy Trinity Church NR12 7JN


Great Hautbois Holy Trinity Church, near Coltishall, bell cot, over the chancel arch, 1 bell, nave with aisles, chancel and south porch. This church was erected in 1864, in the Early English style. Mr Thomas Jeckyll was the architect. The ancient font is from The Assumption of Saint Mary, now a ruined church, and has been placed here. It is said to be pre-Conquest work. Most of the windows are stained glass memorials. There is also a Great Hautbois The church of Theobald which is now a substantial ruin with round tower. The chancel has been restored as a mortuary chapel also. (Messent)

West tower, south porch, nave and chancel. Round Norman tower and all but the chancel, which is used as a mortuary chapel is now in ruins. It used to have an early Norman font which has been removed to the new church. (Cautley) Information for The Assumption of Saint Mary.
