Hedenham Saint Peters Church, in the words of Pevsner: thin west tower, nave and chancel in their details mostly Victorian. In nave one good Decorated window with segmental head and reticulated tracery. The chancel seems Decorated as well, but inside it was redecorated in 1862-3 in the self-confident High Victorian Gothic style. Font Octagonal. Eight shafts against the stem, shields and flowers in cusped panels against the bowl. West screen, apparently one major part of reredos of circa 17oo, with acanthus foliage and a figure of Saint Peter.
Hedenham Saint Peters Church, hs Communication rail, of the early 18th century, reused as a low chancel screen. Stained glass, chancel east by Hardman, south by Clayton and Bell, 1863. Monuments Chalice brass for Richard Grene 1502, Robert Bedingfeld, 1594. Brass inscription tablet in stone surround with two colonettes and a pediment. Francis Bacon 1663. Large tablet with a frightening skull in roundel at the foot, John Richmond 1694, the inscription on a panel curving forward. Philip Bedingfeld and others, circa 1725, inscription in an architectural surround, good.
