Hoveton Saint Peter Church NR12 8RL

Hoveton Saint Peter Church, Unknown by local builder Steve on a recent trip to Saint John the Baptist, when seen pulling up the floor there. This small church near Wroxham has a west bell cot, 1 bell, nave, the eastern portion of which forms the chancel and south porch. This church was entirely rebuilt of brick and stone dressings in 1624. The date is clearly seen above the door on the porch. Inside there are some memorioals to the Aufrere family and another to a member of the Buxton family too. The roofs are thatched and the gables crowstepped. This church stands on the south-west verge of the park. There is a Jacobean pulpit and Stuart arms. And more than I have seen in any other church, NINE hatchments. The church measures just 40 foot by 18 feet 9 inches. A little gem. It should not be missed.
