Morley Saint Peter Church, locked on the day I called, no address or keyholder showing, so not a good day. The church has a west tower, south porch, nave and chancel. Modern roofs and fittings. The tower now exists only to the second stage. Slightly unusual 16th century font and Stuart table (Cautley) A low square west tower with pyramidal roof, 1 bell, nave chancel and south porch. The walls are mainly early 14th century with 15th century windows inserted. The chancel was partly rebuilt in 1849. There is a tablet on the north wall of the nave to Martin Sedley, Esq., who resided at the Old Hall. There is a memorial to the Browne family. Morley itself  is a civil parish. The name is first attested in 1086 as Morlea, which probably meant "open ground by a pasture/clearing", from Old English mo'r "moor", clearing, pasture" + lẽah "open ground, clearing".
