Morningthorpe Saint John the Baptist Church, west tower, south porch, nave and chancel. Three slits high up in round tower which is probably pre-Conquest. Modern roofs and fittings, traditional font font and good piscina with croctetted ogee arch, cinquefoiled and paterae up jambs. A tudor rose and leopard's head (For Dela Pole) are in spandril, and the crockets are unusual, the stalks being disjointed. Carved set of George III Arms. (Cautley). Morningthorpe Saint John the Baptist Church, near Long Stratton, round west tower, 3 bells, nave, chancel and south porch. The base of the tower is Norman. The walls of this church are mainly 14th century with some later insertions, chiefly windows. There is a fine altar tomb to the Garney family, and monuments to Sir William Gostlin, Knight, Alderman and Sheriff of the City of London, and his wife, dated 1723. Another to Caroline Gostlin, died 1767. There are some memorials to the Howes family. At the west end of the church is a fine carving of the Royal Arms, cut from a solid block of oak, by Ollett.
