Sutton Saint Michael Church NR12 9SA



Sutton Saint Michael Church, near Stalham, square west tower, 3 bells, nave with south aisle but no clerestory, chancel and south porch. This church exhibits all three periods of Gothic. It was much restored and renovated in 1848. There are slight remains of ancient stained glass in some of the windows. There are some poppy heads to the pews. Much restored with modern roofs and benches. The south porch formerly had a parvise. Nice 14th century font, with shaft encircled with engaged columns having tracery in between and a traceried bowl. 14th century arcade and a few old bench ends with good heads on them.
