Swafield Saint Nicholas Church, west tower, south porch, nave and chancel. This church has a thatched nave roof. The nave, with its huge span of 26' 6", is spanned with an arch-braced roof (no collar) and has a pendant postfrom ridge with huge flowers at the base of them. lofty 15th century windows give plenty of light and the base of screen remains with brattished middle rail, and eight well painted panels of Saint Andrew, Saint Peter, Saint Jude, Saint Simon, James the Great, Saint John, Saint Thomas and James the Less. Simple 15th century piscina and dropped window sill sedilia. 4 bells, the church is entirely in the Perpendicular style. There is a memorial window to Lieut. Dolphin, who fell in the South African War. The lower panels of the rood screen are original, and the rood stairs are also preserved. Several inner fittings are modern.
