Thurlton All Saints Church, near Loddon, has a square tower, 5 bells, nave and chancel, both thatched, plus a north porch. The church has mainly, 13th, century church has 14th and 15th additions, mainly the windows, The church also has north and south doorways Norman doorways left over from its original build incorporated into this later building. There are some monuments to the Denny family, A fine carved painted rood screen and a large wall mural painting of Saint Christopher. Messent wrote that the church plate was of interest and was one of the smallest in England. Also the patronage of this church has belonged to the Great Hospital Norwich, for the last 600 years. and registers from 1558. A funeral bier was noticed left abandoned outside to the elements. These are very few and far between and of a good value. Thurlton All Saints Church, west tower, north porch, nave and chancel. this church is enrirely thatched, and has a very good base course to 15th century tower, 6 feet 6 inches high flush panelled. the doorway is 15th century with angel at apex of arch and censoring angels in spandrils. It has good doors of the same period which unfortunately lost some of their mouldings. The south doorway is Norman with two engaged shafts and is interesting from having an incipient dog-toothed label mould. Modern roofs and benches and 15th century font. Huge Saint Christopher with Child on right shoulder and fish in the river that look like dolphins. Very nice square headed 15th century coloured screen, with overlays complete, but middle rail cut away and panels below diapered. Nice wrougth iron hour glass stand, now an electric light. Plus Stuart table.
