Thurton Saint Ethelbert Church, west tower, south porch, nave and chancel continuous. Fine Norman south doorway with three engaged shafts and four orders, and plain door of the date on north side. The nave overlaps the tower leaving two curious little chambers. The church is entirely thatched and has arch- braced roof plastered. Old Stuart rails and a great deal of foriegn glass, most in roundels. These said to have come over from Rouen Catherdral at time of the French Revolution, others are fragments of 15th century glass and Hanoverian Arms in Glass.  Thurton Saint Ethelbert Church, near Loddon, square west tower, 3 bells, nave, chancel and south porch. This church is in the Early English style with a number of Decorated windows inserted. The north and south doorways are Norman and belonged to an earlier church. All the roofs are thatched. The nave runs back to the west wall of the tower, thus enclosing it on three sides. The east window contains stained glassas afore mentioned from Rouen Cathedral and presented to the church by a former Lady Beauchamp.
