Tivetshall Saint Margaret Church.

Tivetshall Saint Margaret Church, Has a square west tower, 5 bells, nave chancel and south porch. The walls are mainly Decorated period, but some Perpendicular windows have been inserted. The chancel roof is thatched. There is a fine open timber roof to the nave, the beautiful chancel screen is in the Elizabethan style. (Messent) Arthur Mee wrote: Tivetshall Saint Margaret Church, The gold ring of old John Intwode has the prettiest story this place tells. In 1456 John died and left ten shillings (about £20) of our money. for a high altar for the church and another five marks for the tower. John lies by his church in an unknown grave, and three centuries after he had passed away his gold ring was ploughed up in fields. The church is briefly 14th century and much restored, standing by stacks and red-roofed barns among lonely meadows. Its tower has an odd appearance, the chancel is thatched and the fine old porch is leaning with  age, old beams in its roof. A dozen old pews have lost their carved heads and the Elizabethan screen with queen's Arms painted in a great panel above is but a shadow of its old self. Tivetshall Saint Margaret Church, special thank you to the beautiful Catherine that pointed me in the right direction of Saint Mary's Church Ruin.
