Wramplingham, Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church,

Wramplingham, Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church,  is a very nice church. it is one of 19 parish churches that surround the much larger place of Wymondham (pronounced Wyndom by locals) One of 125 surviving round towers, this added in the late 13th or 14th century. Wramplingham has been around since the 11th/12th century. It has all ages or restoration and original fittings! The chancel built in 1250-60, the windows added in the Victorian times, the porch repaired, and north side of the nave in 1872, but the original 14th century nave windows on that side re-set in a new nave wall. What a sight they are! The church has three bells, two medieval and one made by bell maker John Brend in 1581. Wramplingham, Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church,  round west tower with octagonal top, 3 bells, nave  with north aisle but no clerestory, chancel and south porch. The base of the tower is lkate Norman and 13th century at the top. The chancel is Early English and has a neat row of six splayed lancet windows of that period on each side. The nave is Decorated. There are memorials, principally windows, to the Blick, Brickman, Cann and Jodrell families. Two members of the former two families were rectors here. There is some ancient stained glass in some of the windows in the heads (possibly 14th century canopies in old glass, but no figures) Blomefield records a series of apostles in these windows.
